The internet is a great gift to writers. It released the self publishing revolution that has resulted in thousands of authors reaching readers through ebooks and print-on-demand paperbacks and hardbacks.

Audiobooks are a popular medium, mostly because they allow people to consume fiction and nonfiction when they don’t have time to read with their eyes. Audiobooks are a great choice for commuters or people who have prolonged tedious tasks to perform and desire content for entertainment or education.
I’ve produced some of my titles in audio. I’ve hired narrators, recorded some myself, and am now experimenting with the automated narration tools provided to Google Play publishers. Although the auto narration lacks qualities that only a live narrator can provide, I price the auto-narrated titles at the super cheap price of $0.99. Some people buy them because they like the stories and don’t mind the limitations of auto-narration.
Although I love writing fiction, I’ve also written some nonfiction titles over the years. In fact, the first book I ever published was Get Dicey, a how to play craps guide. This was based on my years working as a casino dealer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Then, I discovered a handwritten notebook of recipes from my late grandmother, so I revived them and produced a cookbook. My urban homestead lifestyle is revealed in my Home Canning Guide, a perennial topic for people who want to preserve food.
