Free digital image of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci
Image size: 2105 x 3150 pixels (7 x 10.5 inches)
This royalty free fine art digital images presents the world famous Mona Lisa by Leonarda Da Vinci. Believed to be painted between 1503 and 1506, it is an intriguing portrait of a woman who seems to know an amusing secret. I also find the landscape behind her interesting. A road winds away toward a lake. Then there is a bridge over her shoulder. I think overall her plain dress and simple hair make her seem very real, approachable even.
Free digital image of Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat
Image size: 3144 x 2118 pixels (10.4 x 7 inches)
This royalty free fine art image reproduces Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte painted by the French artist Georges Seurat from 1884 to 1886. Sunday Afternoon is an iconic work of art and considered the artist’s masterpiece. The painting marks the development of an affluent class from the Industrial Revolution and depicts them enjoying their leisure time. It is a bright and peaceful work that shows an increasingly urbanized humanity interfacing in a formal manner with the natural world.
Free digital image of Fall of Icarus by Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder
Image size: 3120 x 1991 pixels (10.4 x 6.6 inches)
This royalty free fine art image presents the 1558 painting The Fall of Icarus by Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder. You’ll have fun trying to spot the crashing Icarus, the mythological figure who flew too close to the sun. Aside from finding Icarus, the painting shows a broad cross section of civilization. The farmer tills the soil in the foreground. Beyond him a shepherd minds his flock. Boats in the harbor illustrate seafaring and trade. And the city in the background shows urban existence. It’s a wonderful work of art with subtle details. I think its point is that the tragedy of Icarus was just a single splash in a big world that keeps moving without him.
